Include artists and designers early in the planning process for City infrastructure, building, and public works projects.
Increase access and availability to public transportation by having real time notification of bus arrival and departure times at bus stops.
Install sidewalks on every street within 1 mile of schools.
Plant at least 500 trees in City parks and right of ways annually.
Increase availability and affordability of fresh, local, and healthy food.
Decrease the incidence of violent crime in North Little Rock by having more patrols.
More bike racks in public areas.
Use local products in building or renovating buildings.
Maintain the City’s current urban forest.
Incorporate public green space into any new developments.
Any meeting in a public building or public space must have recycling containers available.
Determine the percent of North Little Rock residents who have attended a city-sponsored meeting of any kind in the past year and analyze ways to encourage participation.
Determine the percent of residents who volunteer and the total hours volunteered in selected City funded programs to determine who to increase volunteers.
Reduce the number of still water locations to reduce mosquitoes.
Incorporate permeable pavement systems in a variety of locations where possible.
If the NLRED School District Strategic Plan passes or if they build or retrofit any school buildings that energy and water efficiency measure are incorporated into plans.
City Council ordinance which strongly request NLR School District Board to adopt design and construction sustainability strategy applicable to new and renovated facilities. This strategy could be the adoption fo NLR's Sustainability Ordinance or adoption of EnergyStar for Schools requirements.
Change school and business vending machines policies to offer healthy choices
Decrease the incidence of non-violent crime in North Little Rock tearing down abandoned homes.
Support purchasing cleaning supplies and services without Volatile Organic Chemicals and other toxic ingredients.
Improve the way finding signage throughout North Little Rock.
